Food Rescue
We fill the gap between those who have food and those who need it
We rescue excess fresh food from any North Bay business, school, or garden and immediately deliver the food to nonprofit distribution partners serving our community’s most vulnerable children, seniors, and families
300 food donors, 147 nonprofit distribution partners, and 750 volunteers thus far, all working together towards the same goals of ending hunger and food waste in the North Bay
Types of food we rescue: Prepared food, fresh produce, dairy products, eggs, meat, packaged goods, baked goods
Who we rescue fresh or frozen food from:
Grocery stores, restaurants, schools, farmers’ markets, farms, caterers/events, bakeries, corporations, congregations, civic organizations, hospitals, backyards, and gardens
Who we donate to:
Any nonprofit serving vulnerable people in the North Bay, such as after-school programs, senior housing centers, homeless shelters, food pantries, treatment programs

“Next Generation Scholars so appreciates the partnership with ExtraFood as the food provided is a true lifeline to our students and their families. Not having to worry about hunger allows our students to concentrate on their academic pursuits. We cannot thank you enough!”
